5:00PM WOMEN | 7:00PM MEN – DARWIN FOOTBALL STADIUM
Forces Football Darwin returns to Darwin Football Stadium on Saturday 4 July 2026 for the fourth edition of an annual fixture that has grown into one of the most significant military sporting events held on Australian soil.
The contest is between two of the world’s closest military partners. On one side, the Royal Australian Navy Football Federation Australia. On the other, the United States Marine Rotational Force Darwin. Two services that train alongside each other in the Top End for the duration of each rotation, brought together on the same pitch for one fixture each year.
Year four sits on the back of three consecutive Navy victories. NavyFFA has held the Forces in Football Shield since the inaugural 2023 fixture, and walks into the 2026 edition chasing four in a row, a record that has not been set in this competition. MRF-D arrives with twelve months of preparation behind them and a clear intent to break the streak.
Two matches will be played on the day. The Women’s fixture kicks off at 5:00pm followed by the Men’s fixture at 7:00pm. Entry is free, the gates are open to the whole Darwin community, and the atmosphere on the day is what makes this fixture what it has become.
