Football NT is delighted to welcome Adelaide United’s A-League Women’s Head Coach, Theo Tsiounis, to Darwin for a weekend of senior finals football and emerging Territory talent.
Theo will attend Football NT’s senior finals at Apex Steel Park on Saturday 3 October 2026 before supporting talent identification at the Emerging TDS matches on Sunday 4 October.
With extensive coaching experience across the men’s and women’s games, Theo’s visit provides a valuable opportunity to see Territory players in action and connect with Football NT’s development programs.
The visit follows several months of discussions between Football NT’s Head of High Performance & Pathways, Josh Smith, and Adelaide United Football Director, Mitch van Gellekom, about developing a clearer pathway for Territory talent to Adelaide United.
Smith said the visit was a positive step in building that relationship.
“Territory players have always had a strong connection with Adelaide, with many making the move south to pursue opportunities in the game,” Smith said.
“Having Adelaide United coaches come to the Territory to support talent identification and development is a real win for our players and programs."
“We’re keen to build on this relationship in the coming months, creating opportunities that benefit both organisations and give Territory players a clearer pathway to the next level. We’re excited about where this could lead and look forward to welcoming Theo for a big weekend of football.”
Football NT looks forward to continuing discussions with Adelaide United and exploring further opportunities to support the development of Territory players.
