Many communities. Lasting impact.
Football NTās Remote Delivery Program continues to demonstrate the impact football can have well beyond the pitch.
Throughout 2026, our Community & First Nations Engagement team has travelled across the Barkly and MacDonnell regions, using football to create opportunities for young people to participate, connect and develop.
Across the year:
ā½ 2,065 young people engaged
š 8 remote communities reached
š 2,000+ kilometres travelled on each remote delivery trip
š§” 956 participants across the Barkly region
𩵠1,109 participants across the MacDonnell region
š„ Approximately 1,100 boys and 950 girls engaged
Across the Barkly region, delivery has reached Tennant Creek, Ali Curung, Elliott, Newcastle Waters and Alparra, while programs across the MacDonnell region have engaged young people in Ntaria, Yirrara, Papunya and Santa Teresa.
But remote delivery is about much more than the numbers.
Football provides a platform to support health and wellbeing, community connection, cultural connection, education and learning, leadership and active lifestyles. It allows Football NT to build genuine relationships with communities while creating positive, inclusive and culturally safe opportunities for young people to enjoy the world game.
Driving Football NTās remote delivery program across the Northern Territory is Community & First Nations Engagement Coordinator Kobi Jennings. His work continues to build strong relationships with communities and create opportunities for young people through football. This commitment was recognised during NAIDOC Week, with Kobi named NAIDOC Sports Person of the Year ā recognition that also reflects the communities, young people and partnerships at the heart of the program.
Football NT thanks every young person, family, community, coach, volunteer, partner and supporter who continues to welcome our team and make these programs possible.
2,065 young people. 8 remote communities. 2,000+ kilometres each trip. One game bringing communities together.
